Mall of Memphis Web Site

The Internet was still a new concept to most people in the Malls day. The Mall of Memphis did have a web site from 2001 until the Mall closed but it was very basic and more of an online brochure than an e-commerce portal. At the time many though that the 'brick and mortar' stores of the day would all be replaced by online shopping.

That didn't happen of course. But it is interesting to note that when the mall shut down, its web site was obtained by Amazon.com - the biggest online mall of them all. People looking for the Mall of Memphis on the web were transferred to Amazon.
