Manassas High School was located at the corner of Firestone Drive and Manassas Street in the New Chicago neighborhood of Memphis. It was closed in 2007, because a new Manassas High was built down the street from it. The old building was closed due to its deteriorating condition. It is now a ruin, soon to be demolished for housing. This is the building where Isaac Hayes went to high school and graduated. Another Memphis landmark bites the dust... these pictures were taken on June 13, 2009. Among the pictures are a couple of pictures of the Historic Landmark signs that were moved to the new building when the old one closed. --Clinton Yelvington
