Steak EscapeFrom their web site: http://www.steakescape.com/ "You could say we got our start more than a hundred years ago, in the neighborhoods of old South Philly, where the Cheesesteak was first introduced and perfected. But we’re younger than that. In 1982, co-founders Ken Smith right and Mark Turner left opened the first Steak Escape store in the French Market in Columbus, Ohio. Like many of the Cheesesteak shops in South Philly, it was a small store. Which meant the only place big enough to fit the grill was right in front of their customers. But it turned out to be a good thing, because they discovered that people loved to watch “the show” as their meal was being prepared. Now there are nearly 200 Steak Escape restaurants across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Each one is built on the idea that the best way to treat a customer is to serve them quality food that’s freshly prepared before their eyes, in an atmosphere that’s full of fun." ==== The Steak Escape in the Mall of Memphis was very popular and was a food court member for many years. 9/12/2010 This place had THE BEST french fries. Instead of frozen ones, they sliced fresh potatoes and deep fried them. I can still taste them, they were so good. |
