Mall of Memphis signs new tenant Underground Station, a women's and men's fashion footwear and apparel retailer, has opened its first Memphis location in the Mall of Memphis.

Underground Station has more than 69 stores all over the country and is expected to add several locations by 2002.

Underground Station executives say they chose the Mall of Memphis because of its excellent location and wide customer base. The retailer is a division of Genesco, which is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol GCO. Genesco sells footwear and accessories in 779 retail stores in the U.S. under the names Journey's, Johnston & Murphy, Jarman and Underground Station, as well as through its Internet site.

The Mall of Memphis is the largest enclosed shopping center in the Mid-South and is home to the largest Dillard's store in Tennessee. It features nearly 100 retail and specialty shops such as JC Penney, Foot Locker, Sam Goody and Victoria's Secret.
